This Old Powerhouse
Renovation Project
On the next turn, "New Earth" completed it's construction of a "University", so I put it to work on a "Sports Arena", to alleviate it's unhappiness problem. You can see in the image to the left, that "New Earth" still has a health crisis, so it's next build order will be a "Habitation System", which will increase the population cap.
New London Is Burning
On the next turn, "New London" finished building it's "Banking System", which gave us another boost to our economy. You can see in the image to the left, that "New London" now has a very severe health crisis, so I put her to work on a "Survival dome", which will both help alleviate part of the problem and provide a boost to it's influence growth. Naturally, a "Recycling Center" and "Sports Arena" should be next in line for construction.
It's Always Something
On the next turn, "New Paris" completed it's construction of a "Survival Dome", so I put her to work on a "Recycling Center", since the colony will grow again in only 3 turns and is at it's health cap. You'll notice in the image to the left, that "New Paris" will very soon have an unhappiness problem, as well, so I queued up a "Sports Arena" for it's next build in anticipation.
On the same turn, the "Advocate of Survival" that we sent from "New Earth" to "New Mumbai" arrived and the value was spread there successfully.
Stop Having Babies For A While, Would Ya
On the next turn, "New Earth" completed it's construction of a "Sports Arena", which took care of it's unhappiness problem, so I put it to work on the "Habitation System", to take care of the other problem we are having in that system.
On the same turn, "New Tokyo" finished it's construction of a "Recycling Center", which took care of it's health crisis, but as you can see in the image to the left, it still had an unhappiness problem, so the next build order was a necessity, a "Sports Arena".
Now, We're Talking
On the next turn, we finished researching "Streamlined Production", which will allow us to build "Wealth". I decided our next research project should be "Synthetic Composites", since this research path leads to "Terrestrial Networking" that allows us to build "Commercial Satellites" and "Stardocks". The former provides +1 influence growth and +2 commerce, while the latter provides a boost to influence growth and +50% trade route yield. The research project will be complete in only 3 turns, so it looks like our economy will be shaping up, very soon!
Ahead Of The Game
On the next turn, "New London" completed it's "Survival Dome", but it is still suffering from a health crisis, so I put her to work on a "Recycling Center". At the same time, I queued up a "Sports Arena" to alleviate it's unhappiness problem. You can see in the image to the left, that the colony will not grow again for 31 turns, so it looks like we finally have a lead on this system's social problems, for once.
On the same turn, "New Berlin" finally finished building it's PDS, so I put her to work on an "Interplanetary Beacon" to boost it's influence growth. I imagine when it's borders expand, our relations with Raul of the AstroTech civilization will worsen, which is already in the pits due to our conflicting values, so we may have to deal with him soon.
We Have The Power
It's worth mentioning that our civilization could easily crush both of our competitors in a two front war, even at this early stage in the game. We could just switch a couple of colonies to building wealth and start cranking out battleships and the war would be over in just as few short turns.
You can see in the image to the left that we are far ahead of our competitors in power rating and we haven't built a single military unit, besides our initial planetary garrison in each system, although we did receive several free destroyers from our scout team's exploration mission. Not only that, but we have established 7 colonies so far, while our competitors have only settled two a piece. We far outmatch both of our rivals in every area of the game and we haven't even finished rebuilding our economy or begun gearing up for war. If that doesn't convince you, wait till you see our production rating in the next section!
Sleeping Giant
As you can see in this image, our competitors are not even in the same league with our production rating. There is no way that they could keep up with our mass production of military units in a sustained war effort, even if they allied against us. Impossible!
Similarly, our score, galactic influence, crop yield, and economy are far ahead of our rivals, who just cannot compete with the solid foundation we have built in our thriving empire. I must admit, that I probably should have cranked the difficulty up a few notches for this game, but I wanted to be able to talk about all aspects of the game-play and that might not be possible on harder difficulties, due to scaling.
Since some kind soul was so enthusiastic to see this guide completed that they made a Paypal donation to the cause, I spent another 10 hours on the final chapters to show my appreciation. Also, several people were kind enough to leave feedback on the CivFanatic Forum and I would like to thank them for their compliments and constructive criticisms! So, without further ado, I give you the conclusion to this galactic campaign of conquest.
